Following the release of ‘Clueless’ earlier in the year, Sloane Monroe announces her floor-filling new single, ‘Magnetic.’ Bringing a high-powered pop charm to her discography, the track’s wild nature is an irresistible earworm.

Bringing vibrancy and danceability, ‘Magnetic’ provides a melody and rhythm just as encapsulating as the title suggests. It fused the boundary-pushing top lines of electronic music with an intoxicating, sleek pop sentimentalism. The single sets Monroe up for an exciting 2025 as she grows from strength to strength. Channeling a noughties nostalgia with a wild, contemporary prowess, ‘Magnetic’ is elevated as a potent slice of pop music-making.

“I originally wrote this song for solo loop violin when I was 15.  I had an octave pedal that I would plug my violin into so I could sound like a cello, and I would spend hours improvising over the bouncy bass line. I would play it at open mics around London, and people seemed to love it. My friend had a Prophet 5 synthesizer that he let me borrow the other year, and I jokingly started to play that same bass line. Immediately, I thought, ‘Oh, this is cool as hell. I’ve gotta write some lyrics and make a dance track to this.’  The instrumental was always sexy, seductive, and a bit dark, so I wanted to write a tune that reflected that energy.  I wanted to write a tune that girls could strut down a runway or stumble down the pavement to. I use this tune to remind myself that I’m confident, hot, and powerful. I hope it makes others feel the same way.”

Sloane Monroe is a singer-songwriter with a distinctive passion for the electronic pulse of indie pop. With her musical explorations starting at just four years old, she grew up trying to imitate the likes of Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse during long car drives, being born with strong blues and folk ties. Moving to London from the USA to study jazz violin in 2018, Sloanne began pushing contemporary pop boundaries, working with Haydn Bendall (Kate Bush), YUNGBLUD, and Chinchilla. Inspired by London’s vivid nightlife, she quickly started to layer her bluesy songwriting with hints of pop and electronica to forge an exciting new sound.
