Hotwax – Hot Shock

UK trio HotWax today celebrate the release of their debut album Hot Shock, out now via Marathon Artists.

The album is available in three distinct colored vinyl editions, each inspired by the band members’ hair (“The Tallulah” in black with a blonde stripe, “The Alfie” in gold and a Rough Trade exclusive “The Lola” in bright orange). The album was co-produced by Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice) and Steph Marziano (Picture Parlour, Cassandra Jenkins), and also recorded with Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa.
Today, the band also shares the video for “Strange To Be Here,” directed by singer Tallulah Sim-Savage.
Of the track, she says, “I’ve really been feeling lately that wherever we are, it feels strange and hard to settle in. Whether that be on the road, in the studio or back home, it’s always moving and it’s hard to feel comfort. You have a lot of time to think and you start to analyse every part of your life and start to pick apart yourself. I think this song paints a picture of that strange place and feeling.”
