Marta – Fangirls

Fresh off the back of a busy 2024 including the Eurovision shortlisted release ‘Lovable’, Marta is back with her latest single ‘Fangirls’. Penned as a thank-you to her dedicated fan community, the Martinis, the track leans into her powerful pop prowess and is a dedication to the people who support artists, go to shows and “make the music industry a beautiful place to be in”.
Pumping through the airwaves with its upbeat percussion, ‘Fangirls’ sets the tone as an uplifting pop anthem. Irresistible, sticky melodies come delivered by Marta’s gentle, expertly measured vocal abilities. Making her mark with her distinctive brand of perfect pop storytelling, the track couples groove-laden basslines with luscious earworms.
Speaking about the release, Marta comments, “In my nine years as an artist I’ve never felt as supported as I do now, and ‘Fangirls’ is a love letter to them, the Martinis. Since they found me and started championing my music, they’ve truly kept me going, whilst they, the fangirls, carry the music industry on their shoulders. Their passion, dedication, and support make all the difference, and I’m so incredibly thankful for them – I hope they feel seen and appreciated when they listen to this track!”
She adds, “This is also my first collaboration with the amazing female writer-producer duo INK, Marie White and Emily Cox. We wrote and recorded the song together in London. The whole experience was incredibly fun and wholesome. From the very beginning, we all felt so excited about this song, and I think that energy really shines through in the final version.”
Marta is a Latvian artist who began her songwriting journey in 2015. Studying at the London College of Music, she has made waves across the Latvian music scene with a string of acclaimed singles and two defiant albums under her belt – both of which were nominated for Pop Album of The Year at the Latvian Music Awards. Building a dedicated global fanbase, affectionately known as the ‘Martinis’, she released her first English EP ‘Wrong Woman’ in 2024, shortly followed by the Eurovision shortlisted, ‘Lovable’. Gearing up again for the new year, she prepares to unleash her new single ‘Fangirls’
