Babebee – slowburner

Korean-American artist Babebee (pronounced “baby”) unveils “slowburner,” a hazy, heart-wrenching new single from their upcoming third album, all that heaven allows, out April 4 via Lauren Records.
Sometimes love burns out as quickly as it ignites. Babebee’s “slowburner” is a haunting reflection on an unhealthy relationship that was anything but a slow-burn. “I wrote this song after my first ever tour in 2022, which helped me leave behind a toxic relationship I was in,” Babebee explains. The track, co-produced with simon m, blends shimmery shoegaze guitars with dreamlike, processed vocals, offering a contemporary twist on shoegaze.

all that heaven allows captures the emotional unraveling and self-reconstruction Babebee has undergone over the past two years. “I realized I’ve been suppressing a lot within that time frame,” said Babebee. “At first I wanted to actively avoid what happened, but while creating this project I worked on myself, reversing what it did to my mind. This album is about experiencing abortion, abuse, grief, and questioning why. It’s a goodbye, letting go of my past in order to free it from my next life. And it’s a message to keep loving; love is revolutionary.”
