Michelle Kash – Gravity

Michelle Kash by Amabelle Morning

Billboard chart-topping singer/songwriter Michelle Kash has released her sultry new single “Gravity” just in time for Valentine’s Day. Centered around giving into temptation, the track takes the listener on a dark pop drive through downtown and was inspired by electric New York City nights.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Aaron Kamin of The Calling, “Gravity” captures the bittersweet feeling of surrendering to love’s magnetic pull – for better or for worse. Blending ethereal melodies, hypnotic synth waves, and the artist’s hauntingly raw and airy vocals, the track explores themes of loss, separation, longing and toxic relationships.

“I wrote the poem that ‘Gravity’ is based on in NY,” said Michelle Kash. “The original title was ‘Lou Reed/Gravity/W11th.’ It seemed that everyone I would fall in love with loved Lou Reed, and that if someone loved Lou Reed it just naturally wouldn’t work out. One day, while plagued by the emotional ups and downs of my love life, I was getting off an elevator in the West Village and crossed paths with Lou. It felt so surreal and bizarre and kind of a neon sign of some sort. It was a moment where I felt everything collide and all of my experiences collapse into one another, and I wrote this as soon as I got home.”
