The Annual Folk Alliance International Conference is the largest gathering of folk musicians and music industry professionals in the world.
This is an experience like no other. Music is around every corner. Legends, rising stars, and industry innovators share career-boosting insights.
This year’s conference includes showcases by Amy Speace, Basia Bulat, Beth Nielson Chapman, Jennifer Knapp, Lady A, Mary Bragg, Rachael Sage, Vienna Teng and more. There is also the keynote by Allison Russell.
Basia Bulat – Basia Bulat is a Juno- and Polaris Prize-nominated singer-songwriter based in Montreal. She is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, recording and performing on electric guitar, piano, autoharp, ukulele, bass and charango. Her forthcoming album, “Basia’s Palace”, will be release in February 2025 via Secret City Records.

Digging Roots – Digging Roots is the husband and wife team who are instigators, lovers and creative song makers. They are two time JUNO alumni and continue to make music that is from their bloodlines, their land, their bones, and their hearts.

Ismay – Driven by singer/songwriter Avery Hellman, ISMAY creates music that is a tapestry of alternative American roots full of alt-country textures and lush folk songs. Their music owes more to geography than genre, with songs about the sights, sounds, and singular characters found way out west on a new horizon.

Mama’s Broke – Mama’s Broke is a unique and powerful folk duo that both honours and defies tradition with their original compositions. Two strong voices blend to create haunting harmonies, while they artfully juggle fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin, and incorporate traditional dance and foot percussion as part of their performance.

Oakland Rain – Since the release of their debut EP in 2015 receiving stunning reviews, the folk/country duo Oakland Rain has released 6 EPs, written albums for movies and Ibsen theater, and toured extensively in Europe and the US. In 2024, the twin sisters are touring with Judy Collins in the US.

Sara Curruchich – Sara Curruchich is a Guatemalan singer-songwriter and Maya Kaqchikel activist. Known for blending traditional Maya music with contemporary genres, through her art she amplifies and emanates joy and dignity, while addressing issues of social justice, the connection to historical memory, the uplifting of indigenous women’s voices, and the preservation of indigenous languages.

Sauljaljui – Sauljaljui is an indigenous vocalist from southern Taiwan, known for her heartfelt renditions of traditional Paiwan indigenous melodies and Hengchun folk songs.

Siibii – Montreal-based queer, trans non-binary, Indigenous pop singer/songwriter, Siibii, has emerged onto the national music scene with their stunning vocals, catchy acoustic pop melodies and a growing catalogue that has been capturing audiences at a rapid pace.

Te Kaahu – TE KAAHU is an award-winning alt folk project from New Zealand. TE KAAHU’s signature sound sees angelic vocals and harmonies front and centre, wrapped in a warm nostalgic instrumentation that nods to a bygone era.

The Pairs – With soaring harmonies, The Pairs share stories of life’s hope, hilarity, and hardship. Their quirky stage presence and unbottled chemistry quickly connect them with their audience.
