Polly Money – Milk & Honey

Polly Money by Cal McIntyre

Today indie-pop artist and self-proclaimed “lesbian overlord” Polly Money is releasing her upcoming EP’s latest single, “Milk & Honey”, accompanied by its music video.

“Milk & Honey” captures the dizzying exhilaration of blossoming queer romance tempered by the fear of what would happen if those feelings came to fruition for the first time. Polly’s signature dreamy, thoughtful vocals, intentional lyricism, and excited, bubbly production amplify the song’s sense of thrill as she navigates love, longing, and self–discovery. Polly Money has mastered a balancing act of leveraging emotional weight and breezy tunes that will leave you grooving all day. With “Milk & Honey”, she continues to step into her own, establishing herself as a standout queer artist in the indie-pop landscape at large.

A wistful reflection on experiencing love for the first time, Polly says of the track: “My hope is for anyone listening to Milk & Honey to be immediately transported to the time and place they first fell in love. This song speaks to both the euphoria and heartache of a fledgling romance, and the intensity of the baby-queer experience.”

The accompanying music video was directed and edited by friend and fellow artist Rosie Carney, and set against the blank canvas of Polly’s photographer Cal McIntyre’s studio. It’s a stark, minimalist, and intimate view of Polly with her noting that “Rosie has an incredible ability to capture me at my most natural, which I find is always a hard thing when I’m aware there’s a camera around.”

Polly Money’s EP T-Shirt Nothing Else comes out March 20 via Coolonline.

After a whirlwind 18 months joining pop-rock giants, The 1975, as a live guitarist and vocalist, Polly Money has emerged from the maelstrom more confident in her craft than ever. Her recent single, “i’m not proud”, showcases Polly’s ability to craft infectious hooks amidst compelling storytelling as she explores the addictive complexities of guilt and desire in a relationship. Garnering praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1 and People and landing spots on multiple Spotify and Apple Music playlists, her recent singles, “Anything” and “I’m not proud” have soared into the realm of indie alt-pop with force.
