Yaeji – booboo

On the heels of dropping her hot new club single “booboo”, Yaeji returns to premiere the tracks music video, which the NYC-via-Seoul producer, DJ, and songwriter, self-directed and starred in along with her friends and back-updancers; the video was shoot in upstate New York and features “overflowing energy and sick arss dance moves.”

After a brief period of retreat from the club, while she recorded and released her 2023 critically-acclaimed debut With A Hammer, Yaeji is back firmly behind the decks with her latest single. Last month Yaeji performed a wildly rambunctious Boiler Room DJ set (watch here) at Brooklyn Mirage, followed by appearances at Pitchfork Music Festival (Chicago), Lost Village Festival, Field Day (London) and Festival Palamosa (Montreal). This weekend she’ll return to her hometown of Queens to DJ at Outline Festival at Knockdown Center, before she heads to Club to Club in October.

The unapologetic and carefree new single is a result of Yaeji’s recent period of deep introspection. On “booboo” Yaeji returns to the club with a new found self-liberation, locked in to her connection with mind, body and soul, surrounded by her friends and the underground dance community that inspired her to begin making music in the first place.
