Skylar Simone – Shiver
R&B/Pop star on the rise Skylar Simone releases her highly anticipated new EP, Shiver via Def Jam Recordings.
The launch comes with the premiere of the steamy viusalizer for album focus track “Permission.”
“Permission” stands out with its suggestive guitar riff and Skylar’s silky vocals as she invites a future lover to cross the line. Singing “every day of the week, get me weak in the knees/ Can you do that for me? Cuz I want your addiction,” she’s the embodiment of flirtation. The visualizer captures a game of chess with an expansive city skyline backdrop—you can’t take your eyes off Skylar as she takes pieces off the board.
Shiver, produced by the legendary D’Mile (Bruno Mars, Silk Sonic, Victoria Monet), Scribz Riley (Doja Cat, 21 Savage), and Trackside (Khamari), is a testament to Skylar’s artistic growth and evolution. Exploring themes of love of another and the self, and acting from a place of heartbreak and confidence—as well as finding the latter through the pain of the former—the project embodies the contrasts of human emotion, inviting listeners on a visceral journey of self-discovery. Each track showcases Skylar’s range and prowess as both a vocalist and a storyteller.
