John Glacier – Cows Come Home

On the eve of the release of John Glacier’s new project Duppy Gun, the Hackney-born rapper, producer and poet shares a new single and music video for “Cows Come Home.”
Directed by Yasser Abubeker (Kelela, Shygirl), the music video for Glacier’s latest single stars the enigmatic artist, who has become a totemic force in London’s hallowed rap scene. Duppy Gun, out tomorrow on Young, follows the same free-form, experimental spirit of its predecessor Like A Ribbon.

Glacier will arrive in North America this September to perform music from her latest projects, across festival appearances at Making Time (Philly), Pop Montreal, and Warm Love Cool Dreams (Chicago), along with headline performances at Elsewhere in Brooklyn and Lodge Room in Los Angeles (details below).
“Cows Come Home” integrates elements of subwoofer-blowing rap, jungle and dancehall, while still creating space for John’s singular, intimate tone. A song that celebrates individuality, even when others don’t understand, “Cows Come Home” embodies a claustrophobic atmosphere, as if the listener is aware of the external conversations of those who conform to social constructs and pressures. “Cows Come Home” is the second single released from Duppy Gun, following ”Steady As I Am”, an autobiographical amble taken straight from the inner depths of Glacier’s psyche, written and produced by Glacier and London-based composer and producer Kwes Darko.
