Lightning Bug – Lullaby For Love

Today Lightning Bug shares their third and final single “Lullaby For Love”, from their forthcoming album No Paradise, out next week.

The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Kit Zauhar and filmed by Andras Ladocsi, starring frontwoman Audrey Kang and frequent collaborator Sarah Bolander.
Not quite folk, not quite shoegaze, and not quite a ballad, “Lullaby” possesses a pulsing sensuality that ducks and soars with the emotional highs and lows of new love. Moments of intense, intricate beauty are grounded by a bassline that expresses the heart-skipping feeling of lying close with a lover. Kang’s evocative lyrics complete the story: “When I hear your name in the hollows of my mind, it runs as a melody through the chambers of my spine.”
Choreographed by Nicole Fuentes, the music video parallels the song’s passion with powerful movement that recalls the hushed vigor of pieces by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker.
Kang shares: “I wrote Lullaby for Love as part of a mixtape for an ex-partner. It was actually kind of a joke between us, like leaning into the cheesiness of being in love. But as life flowed on, it kind of stuck with me. When you’re really in love, it feels like a special world that exists outside time and space. I don’t even mean with a romantic partner, necessarily. You could be in love with the ocean, with the sunlight, a really perfect day. And you just want it to go on forever. That’s what I wanted to express in this song. ”
