Helena Hallberg – From The Outside

Nashville-based, Swedish/Swiss singer-songwriter Helena Hallberg releases “From The Outside,” the first single and video from her forthcoming debut LP, EPITHET.

The album will be out in March 2024. “From The Outside” combines her love for the Appalachian dulcimer (a fairly obscure, American folk instrument), her childhood in and around the forests of Sweden, her admiration of Joni Mitchell, and a constant thirst for personal growth, mental health, and building a better world.

The video was made in a magical, Scandinavian forest filled with hygge – the very forest Hallberg grew up in.  The song came to Hallberg as a sort of anthem to her own journey; moving to the US and taking a chance on building something better, while also acknowledging that journeys often don’t have happy ends– and that’s ok. Because while your life may not play out exactly the way you had envisioned, you can always be proud of taking that step out, you’ll be a better person for it.
