Sylvia Tosun has been taught at Juilliard and has performed with the USO. Her newest CD is produced Miklos, who has also worked with Celine Dion, and Jennifer Lopez. Tosun’s new CD, Anthem: National Anthem of Our World Volume 1, is risk. It is a collection of ten of the national anthems to different countries. Performing any national anthem is a risk in offending not only the country, but the song. Tosun does neither. Every sports event in the nation should open with her version of “The Star Spangled Banner.” Her arrangements are creative and dignified. As a pop/rock album this is the last one from listener’s minds. It should be the first.
