SXSW is the festival everyone strives to be at. Last year it had over 2200 performing artists from 67 countries. This year it is expected to be at least as big. For info visit https://www.sxsw.com/festivals/music/

Vera Blue – Vera Blue continues the long line of Australian artists to come to SXSW. Blue was signed to Deep Well/Capitol Records & Paradigm Agency recently and her EP Fingertips will be available in the US later in 2017. She is also working on a full length album. Blue has vibrant and dark sound that is instantly appealing. http://www.verablue.com/

Die Heiterkeit – This German 4 piece released a double album last year called Pop + Tod I & II. Their name means Cheerfulness. Their music is minimalist indie sound closer to Waxahatchee. http://dieheiterkeit.de/

Billie Eilish – This 14 year old recently signed to Darkroom/Interscope Records and is working on a debut album. She is known for her songs “Ocean Eyes” & “Six Feet Under.” This LA artist will be breaking out this year. http://www.billieeilish.com/

FAARROW – Iman & Siham Hashi have traveled the world to bring you their debut EP Lost! The sisters came from Somalia to Canada to LA. They recently signed to Warner Records. They mix hip hop, pop into a drum heavy mix. http://www.faarrow.com/

Orenda Fink – Orenda Fink is no stranger to the spotlight. This year she caught our attention with 2 of her bands being signed to play SXSW. Closeness is a band she has with her brother Todd Fink. High Up is the sister Christine & Orenda Fink. Both bands have their own unique signature. Fink is known best for her time with Azure Ray https://www.facebook.com/highupband & https://www.facebook.com/closenessmusic/

Moor Mother – This Maryland artist is a raw hip hop poet goddess. She is confrontational and provocative. She released Fetish Bones last year.  http://moor-mother.tumblr.com/

The Bastards of Fate – The Roanoke, VA 5 piece has released albums to raves before. They are signed to HHBTM Records. They released Suck The Light Out in February. This band is sonically unique. We compare them to NYC’s Pharmakon. The comparison is in how they break with conventions of any style at all. The Bastards of Fate may not be for everyone. https://www.facebook.com/thebastardsoffate/

Maggie Rogers – This 22 year old artist sold out her tour before it even began. Her EP Now That The Light is Fading was recently released on Capitol Records. We see stadium tours in this artist’s future. http://www.maggierogers.com/

Ruzzi – This Mexican artist has been tour support for Café Tacvba, Julieta Venegas, Natalia Lafourcade, to name a few. Her own music brings in a melodic style all its own. http://www.ruzzi.net/

Sarah Shook and the Disarmers – The North Carolina alt country band recently signed to Bloodshot Records and will release Sidelong in April. They are bold and profane and will leave a mark.
